Willy-O is a handsome, quirky 3 1/2 year old Chinese Crested HHL with beautiful long hair and captivating smile. When he first arrived into rescue he was afraid and skittish. Once he discovered he was safe and cared for, he began to open his heart. Willy-O came to us as an owner surrender and lived in a home with very large dogs. It also took a fair amount of time for him to began to open up to his Foster-Dad.
He became attached to his Foster mom almost overnight. He does not have any destructive behaviors like chewing and is very well mannered in the house. He is always crated when we go are away from the house. He picks up quickly on vocabulary and his favorite phrase of all is "Wanna go outside?" Oh, how he jumps and spins at the door when it's time for outside play. Willy-O gets along great and plays well with the small dogs in his foster home. He enjoys playing fetch with any squeeky toy and ball. He is a master snuggler and a great hugger. He is content to be curled up in your lap or a dog bed.
Willy-O is fully house trained and usually goes to the door when he needs out. He had one accident in the house early on, but with a consistent routine he will do fine. He walks great on a leash and does not pull or try to lead. His skin does need a little TLC and weekly baths to get into good shape. We also think lotion and good nutrition with a high quality kibble will improve him from the inside out. Willy-O absolutely LOVES his jammies and clothing which gives him added confidence.
Willy-O's "Forever Home" MUST have:
1. FULLY fenced-in yard for his safety;
2. NO children under 12 years of age;
3. NO large dogs;
4. At Least ONE small-medium sized confident CAINE playmate in the home;
Willy-O has NOT been people-socialized and at the present time he is not ready for an active lifestyle outside the home. His Foster home will be working with him on public socialization in the meantime.
We think he'd be most successful in a home where he is not alone very much since he adores human companionship. He sleeps in a crate at night but would LOVE to sleep in the bed with his forever human.
Willy-O wants to be someones EVERYTHING.
He is ready to find a home that can give him all the love and attention that he deserves. He'll likely be nervous when first adopted. The forever family who will give him time and patience will gain his trust. All indications are that he will attach to his new family within a couple of weeks and find his place. This handsome boy will be worth that little extra... you'll get back so much more!
