Introducing an absolutely gorgeous and cute Intermediate Xoloitzcuintle (Xolo). He is young (estimate) 1-1/2 years old, weighs about 27 lbs and is musculed up in all the right places. Since coming into foster care he has acess to almost an acre of fenced yard which, he loves and makes good use of. He loves to play fetch and when he grows tired of it, he puts his ball away on the patio. Before he comes out in the morning, I hide his ball and he always finds it when I ask him to.

He is super uber smart having learned some basic commands in one day. He will come when he is called (most times), sit, down, off, stay, shake hands and he can play dead. He likes to go for walks and does fairly well on the leash. However, he can lose focus quickly and must be returned to task and he corrects himself quickly.

He is food and praise motivated and wants nothing more than to please his people. He is a velcro dog and bonded quickly to us. He has never had an accident in the house. He will go to the door ask to go out and will notify you when he is ready to come in. He is sweet, loving, and loves cuddle time with us on a king size bed. He sleeps in his crate at night he snores LOUD! He is a dog who needs an active life. We feel he would excel at fly ball, frisbee, obedience, agility, hiking etc.

He would do well as an only dog, but he would also do fine with a larger well balanced dog who could model good dog behavior. Bare E. is an enthusiastic playmate and would love a dog who would play with him!

Although he has many amazing qualities, Bare-E also can be a challenging dog. He has a very strong, outgoing personality. Due to his early life experiences and lack of socialization, he can come on strong when meeting dogs. His youthful exubrance and puppy antics make him unsuitable for young children or small dogs. He is not a biter or aggressive at all, but he's strong and could easily knock down a little one. For these reasons he will not be adopted to a home with small children or small dogs.

His forever home will need to have had experience with dogs and be willing to provide strong leadership. He is a work in progress and will need a home that is committed to challenging his energy and intellect in positive ways. Xolo's are a unique breed. They are smart, sensitive, strong willed dogs who are responsive to training and kind, consistant strong leadership. A home able to provide these things to Bare-E will gain a loyal loving companion for life.

Bare E. is a fantastic dog, filled with potential, and ready for his forever home to help him reach it.
