Description:
Soldier is smart, gentle, and all-around a loving dog. He is a Chinese Crested Powderpuff, estimated to be 10 years old and weighs about 16 pounds. He loves routine, getting butt rubs, and playing fetch!

Though he is a senior dog, he acts young and spunky and is eager to please. His first night in foster care he walked around for 3 hours before laying down and now he knows the couch with a blanket on it is his favorite place as long as his human is somewhere nearby.

He does great with other dogs of larger and smaller sizes. He is unbothered by cats and pays them no attention. He gets along with strangers, kids, and loves to get pets if they are being offered.

Soldier would love a home with at least one other dog, a very routine/calm household, and a fenced-in backyard is required. He will go on a leash but prefers to free walk in a fenced-in area. He is housebroken as long as he is taken out right after his meals. Soldier stays in his dog crate when no one is home and is willing to sleep in it at night after a few cries, he really would prefer to sleep in bed with his person.

Soldier is neutered, microchipped, and up to date on his shots. He does have a grade 5/6 heart murmur, which is a serious consideration for any adopter. We encourage you to talk to your vet about concerns related to his health. He's being fostered near Charleston, SC and applications within driving distance are welcome.
