BOUNDARIES, ROUTINE and WATCH YOUR COFFEE!
Meet Butterscotch, aka “Butters”. She is a sweet little munchkin that has a little playful streak that she shows when you want her to or after she eats. She is crate trained for the times that I am away and to sleep at night. She will whine for a while at bedtime because i don't let her sleep on the bed. She loves ALL the attention from people that she picks. She seems to like women a little more but can get used to men. I have gotten her around children, and she barks a lot. If she happens to be sitting near her human and a child come near her human, she will snap, but has not made contact. She is immediately put on the floor. She acts submissive when placed on the floor. She plays with our dog savvy cat, and he plays with her. She seems to be quite independent of my dogs. She likes to see if she can push getting all the attention for herself. She needs a home that will establish boundaries or be the only pet. She is a quick learner. She has learned to sit peacefully and wait until her turn for a treat. She has also learned not to grab fingers with her teeth. She is extremely responsive to gentle training. She is also learning that climbing on tables is not acceptable. She is extremely agile and loves to walk on a leash. She has been to PetSmart and Marshall’s and does mind being around people in the stores. She is a wonderful car riding companion. She sits quietly in her crate. Her skin is easily mainttained with oatmeal shampoo. She does very well for her bathes.
She is an exceptional little dog with personality to spare and will make a wonderful companion for someone that can continue to establish boundaries and keep a routine. (She likes to eat at certain times.)
If she is chosen by someone with other pets, boundaries should be established. She would like to take over anything or anyone and will snap at another pet if she feels like she isn’t given enough attention or if they get near something she wants. (She is fed in her crate to avoid food resource guarding). Again, gentle correction has been working for her.
She really is a love bug and would love to do nothing more than sit with a person most of the day. She does have moments of independence as well. Keep your coffee out of reach because she will try to drink it if left unattended.
