Description:
Hurley is a hairy hairless male, estimated about 3 years old. He came to us from North Carolina, one of five dogs dumped at animal control. He is a smart, active, super-friendly dog, who loves people as well as other dogs. He was adopted at the start of the summer, but unfortunately never seemed happy there, and so his owner made the difficult decision to surrender him back to rescue. We're thrilled to have him back, although we must apologize for his unfortunate haircut and promise... it WILL grow back.
Hurley is so sweet and affectionate. He is great on a leash and enjoys going on walks. He does notice the squirrels and would take off after them if he had a chance... so a leash will be important for this guy! He's on the big side for the breed. He's done great in foster care and has turned out to be a playful dog who likes toys and already enjoys fetching. Hurley can entertain himself endlessly with a ball, toy, plastic cup, butterfly.... especially another dog! He seems very smart and learns quickly. He loves meeting new people and is confident to go right up and introduce himself, even to kids.
The best thing about Hurley is that he absolutely loves to curl up with his person and go to sleep. He's a serious snuggle-bug. When he wants to stay in your lap, he holds on! Don't let the wild-man pictures in the video fool you... Hurley is a very gentle soul. He just likes to play rough with other dogs when he gets the chance.
Hurley must be adopted by a household with a fenced-in yard, and another playful dog for serious activity time. Ideally, his new home will have a family, maybe even young kids, to give him all the love and attention he deserved. Whatever his past, Hurley deserves a fresh start in a home that will care for him for the rest of his life.
