Description:
No, Parker didn't go prematurely bald. He's an American Hairless Terrier and they're naturally completely bald. He's so easy to care for since there's no hair to comb or grooming other than a weekly bath and a bit of lotion. Of course he still needs sun protection and clothing to protect him from the cold. If you absolutely hate pet hair on your favorite suit or dress Parker is the perfect dog for you.
Parker is housetrained, loves to travel in the car, thoroughly enjoys walks, and is the killer of all squeaky toys. Parker bonds very quickly with his people and usually picks one or two favorites. He's really a people dog and doesn't play all that much with his foster dog siblings. He has many terrier traits and can be unpredictable around children. For this reason he will only be placed into an all adult home.
This sweet little guy loves to snuggle on laps for hours and would be best in a home as the only dog or with one other doggy companion. Someone experienced with this breed would be best.
Parker loves hard chewy toys and will play fetch with softer toys, but, as mentioned above, anything with a squeaker will meet an untimely death. This just adds to Parker's charm.
He's a little bed bug at night and can't wait to nestle under the covers to keep warm. He's very good about sleeping all night and will wait patiently to go outside to do his business.
We have discovered since his time here at Bald is Beautiful that Parker suffers from grain allergies and will need to stay on a grain free diet. With so many grain free choices out there it's really nothing to worry about and certainly doesn't hold him back from enjoying his grain free mealtimes and treats.
