"Monkey bonds quickly when he gains his family's trust. He walks politely on-leash and never pulls. He is completely housebroken and has only soiled on newspaper one time at his foster home (he ate a treat that did not agree with him!) He would do best if placed as an only dog or with another dog that is slightly larger than he is. He has had some resource guarding issues but his foster mom has them under control by leashing him when he is being fed and using basic obedience commands (she is a professional dog trainer). He has a touch of separation anxiety but settles down quickly and naps when he is alone or with other dogs.
 
Monkey would be a wonderful pet for an older individual in an apartment. He qualifies for our Golden Opportunity program. He is non-shedding and loves to be brushed and fussed with! He tolerates being dressed up and having his nails clipped. He has polite 'bed manners' and will cuddle up to his new mom or dad very quickly!"
