Sweet little Maddie came to Bald is Beautiful after spending nearly all of her 5 years having babies for her breeder owner...thankfully being a mommy is now a part of her past, and she can begin to experience the joy of being loved and babied herself!

Maddie is a delightful little dog, loving, affectionate, and gentle. She has a soft personality, without being overly timid or fearful. Maddie loves people, and is cuddly and snuggley without being demanding...though she adores lap time on the sofa during movie night, soaking in affection like a sponge, she's also content on the floor or in her doggie bed, curled up by her foster mom's feet. Maddie is a true companion dog, intuitive and responsive.

Maddie is good with strangers, too, friendly and curious.  She is polite when meeting new dogs, possessing good "doggie" manners. She is not aggressive and is not a barker (though in sharing a foster home with 2 schnauzers and 4 chihuahuas, she doesn't have to carry the responsibility of sounding the doorbell alarm!) She also gets along with the 2 resident cats, mostly ignoring them.

Maddie is very smart, and learned the household routine at her foster home within a day. She is house trained when kept on a schedule, and sleeps quietly in her crate at night next  to her foster parents' bed, though she would love to sleep IN the bed and under the covers! Since she is relatively new to rescue Maddie is still crated when her people are gone from the house, more  to maintain her sense of security than to keep her out of mischief.

Maddie has a playful side and would be wonderful in a family with responsible children, where she could enjoy chasing toys or dashing around a fenced yard. She is learning  to walk on a leash, and would also be happy going on walks with her people if her yard is not fenced.  Maddie would also be a great companion for an adult couple or even a single  person, since she is so loving.  She does enjoy other dogs, and would be happy with other pets in her forever home.
