FOSTERED in ILLINOIS Jaxon is an absolutely delightful young Chinese Crested
Hairy Hairless who came into rescue after being found abandoned, along with
another little dog, in an empty house. He has a darling personality...gentle
and sweet, yet curious and playful. Why someone would have abandoned this boy
is a mystery; he is a total love bug, loving to be held and cuddled, soaking
in affection like a sponge. He is a happy boy in spite of showing physical
signs of abuse by his previous owners, since his ears have been cut down to
stubs, and he seems to have been cruelly de-barked, leaving him with only a
whisper of a voice. This poor baby has nevertheless learned to communicate
with his eyes...he will look at you with the sweetest expression, and lean up
against you for love and attention.
Jaxon gets along well with other dogs and is fine with cats, too. He is
learning commands and walks well on a leash. He is still working on potty
training, doing well when taken out regularly, though he should probably be
crated when left alone until he is 100% housebroken.
Jaxon needs a family or owner who will be gentle with him, and give him time
to open up, explore his world, and learn how to play and be a dog. He loves
toys but acts as if he doesn't exactly know what to do with them. He is
sweet and trusting, opening up more and more every day in his foster home.
He could be fine with children, as long as they are gentle with him, he is very submissive. An owner with Chinese Crested experience, or someone willing
to learn, would be a plus since his skin still needs cleaning up from a
previously poor diet and neglect...he will need regular baths and scrubbing
for the next few months, but it's easy since he's so bare! All in all,
Jaxon is a precious boy who will make the right person or family a loving,
funny, and devoted little companion. He is one in a million.
