Say hello to Maya... a big personality in a little package, looking for a loving forever home.

Lovely Princess Maya is a small chihuahua with a lot of chi-personality. Maya weighs only about 7 pounds, and is such a pretty girl. Thanks to time in rescue, we've gotten to know her very well and are excited to place her in a home where Maya is their perfect match. She's been with us quite a while, and it would be so wonderful to find that special forever home.

Maya is approximately five years old, loves to snuggle, play a good game of fetch, and will sleep until noon after an early breakfast. She walks very well on a leash and loves to run around in the yard. She will bond closely with her person (or people) but is fearful of strangers. Maya would be most successful in a structured home and routine, without small children. Maya would also do best in a home where she is an only dog, as she can be protective of her people and toys.

We are looking for a forever family for Maya where she's given time and patience to settle in. She's doing so well in her foster home, so we see great potential in her. Although her past had some challenges, we want to give her a future where she's safe, loved and discovers what life is really supposed to be like for a special dog.
