ADOPTION PENDING.
Up to 120 times!
Yes, Freckles is super special...by many times over. Weighing in at around 6lbs, full of amazing spunk and pretty much oblivious to her "issues", she's an absolute doll baby who spins counter clockwise up to 120 times before she pees and poops. (needless to say, only very patient and understanding people need apply) Where her blood test and exam came back okay, she has a history of seizures and is presently on phenobarital 2x a day.

Freckles loves to play with toys, steal and chew on shoes, gnaw on willing hands, run around like a puppy and is super sociable with other dogs and people. She's a bit unbalanced because she seems to have neurological issues...so she's shaky, wobbly and zig-zaggy. She can trip anyone up in a second with her extreme starting & stopping, circling and weaving. So she needs a family who will be extra aware and cautious with her in the home.

She seems happy no matter where she is as long as she gets attention and has some toys. She doesn't possess the ability to jump on furniture or to climb more than one step at a time. She can sometimes become confused as to where she is and she'll definitely let you know her dilemma with a pitiful cry. But Freckles is also extremely feisty and can display an attitude like the best of them. It's so cute that you can't help but laugh at her. So her new family will have to learn to play along...especially when dressing her.

She LOVES to sleep in her crate but enjoys cuddling up under the covers with everyone else too.

Freckles will not take a treat from the hand. The treat has to be on the floor and then she'll spend a few minutes trying to figure out how to pick it up. (yes...another reason she needs a patient person/family). She has to be carried out to the place she should go potty or she'll go right outside the door. She only walks on a leash in the direction she would like to go. Otherwise, she won't budge. She's not a flight risk but will not necessarily come when called either. So a fenced yard would be the best case scenario for her.

Freckles is looking for someone who will accept her for the quirks she has. Someone who is probably home more than gone and who appreciates how fragile AND amazing she is.

Dogs seem to respect and like her. So she takes that as her cue to get as much playtime as she can out of them. But toys seem to be her favorite past-time.

Because she typically spins so many times before she pees and/or poops, it's a significant 'signal'  that there's time to get her outside. I would say she's far from being potty trained. But when she's in a routine, there shouldn't be any accidents in the house.

Her skin is great...with some more TLC will probably be perfect. But she's not fond of a bath and needs some coaxing to to deal with it and stand still...standing still is not easy for her, no matter what the case may be.

It would be great if anyone who's interested in Freckles could meet her first. But I know that's virtually impossible so I've made a video to help show her quirkiness. She's being fostered in Yorktown, VA. www.youtube.com/watch?v=FG1roWRKspo
