Trey is a sweet Chinese Crested senior, 9 years young, and he's looking for a quiet, loving home where he can spend his retirement years. He's gentle, petite (12 pounds) and although timid at first, he warms up as soon as food is involved. Trey likes sitting on the back of the couch, listening to the birds chirp and watching the world go by. He is a great listener and will patty-cake when he wants something. At some point, he was someone's loved pet, but somehow he ended up in a shelter.

Because of his shyness, he would not be recommended for a home with young children, or a loud, busy home. He is more of a companion dog than a playmate, and is so grateful to be with his person. He gets along very well with the other dogs, as well as cats, in his foster home. Trey is house trained as long as he gets outside every five hours or so, is clean and well-mannered in the house and has no destructive behaviors.

His silly side is coming out, and he loves to rub himself on furniture like a cat. He gets very excited at meal time and treat time, and has jus started playing with toys at times. When you talk to him, he tilts his head and listens with those big ears... he has a good vocabulary that he responds to, but his favorite word is defnitely "treat."

He is learning to walk on a leash, and we are working with him on that. He does get excited when it's time for a walk, but some sights on the walk make him a little nervous. He'd be happiest with a home that has a yard.

He is being fostered in Greenville, SC, and can be transported by car only. No air travel, please. We're happy to answer any questions you might have, or if you're interested in giving Trey his forever home, please apply.
