Description:
Bart is a handsome, sweet, 11 lb., hairless Chinese Crested who's full of fun. He regularly runs laps with my girls and is much more active than my other 10-y-o. He really enjoys the company of my females and often bunks with my 8 lb. hairless mix. He gets along very well with my pack and will snuggle in a bunch on the sofa.
After a typical transition period in foster care, Bart quickly learned the value of a treat when it comes to house manners. He now potties outside on cue and can be left with my girls for 3-4 hours without a problem. When inside, he will circle, paw and stare to signal that he has to go potty.
Bart's leash skills are improving. He'll pull a little when he wants to change direction but he's easily redirected. He will potty on leash and enjoys a brisk walk. He's easy to handle and doesn't mind nail trims, ear cleaning, or baths.
Bart is a little slow to warm up to strangers, particularly if they are loud or move quickly. Once he's settled in, he's delighted to occupy any lap. He loves to spend evenings snuggling with his 'person' and soaking up affection.
Bart is being fostered in Dover, DE with three small-breed dogs. Cats are unknown; as a senior he won't be placed with young children. If you like to walk, he's happy to go with you; else a yard with 4' fence would be fine. He is vocal when his person isn't around, so he won't do well in close living quarters. As a senior dog, he's also a candidate for our Golden Opportunity, which give a $100 discount to adopters age 62 and up. Be sure to ask about that if you qualify.
