Carly is a young girl (under a year old) a powderpuff Chinese Crested. She is a happy, silly little girl that is discovering how much fun life can be for a family pet.
When Carly first arrived she was so afraid of people she would cower when ever someone reached to touch her… poor thing would try to become invisible so she could watch what was going on around her. Even though she was fearful there was a tiny glimmer of trust and hope that was shining through her beautiful eyes.
Within a few days of arriving in her foster home she had mastered the stairs, sleeping in her own bed, tossing around toys for herself to play with, how to use the doggie door, going to her crate for treats or her meals, rolling over for belly scratches… And she has the most precious crooked Elvis smile you can imagine when her person talks to her.
She will try to very hard to make her person happy but needs support and understanding to over come her insecurities. Positive reinforcement is key for Carly. She responds to correction and as long as she is not pushed too hard, she will give her person all that she has each and every day.
Carly will eagerly follow her foster brothers and sisters in and out of the doggie door to take care of business most any time day or night but she will also use the piddle pads if necessary. Carly needs to have other dogs around her, she is indifferent towards cats and loves being her person's shadow. She has not given any indications that she is a digger, climber, chewer or excessive barker. At this time she does become concerned if she is alone without her person or another pet within sight and will search until she finds someone within her support team.
Carly is making progress every day. We recommend she will do well in a home that is not too busy. She would be fine with children over 6, as long as they are gentle and patient, willing to give her time to get to trust them. Carly needs a family who will give her the time that she needs to work through her fears, show her lots of love and support and she must go to a home with other pets.
Carly will fill her new home with so much love and happiness. She has a lot to teach her new family while she learns to be her full doggie self. She is a joy to be around and is just beginning to bloom. Will you please consider allowing this exceptionally happy girl to become a part of your family?
